THE AREA

Tighnabruaich is a village on the Kyles of Bute in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, it is promoted as part of "Argyll's Secret Coast", west of Glasgow, and is located along the east coast of Loch Fyne and stretching into the Kyles of Bute.

The views around the area are amazing and Bute looks so close in places that would think you could swim to it, but we strongly recommend the frequent ferry services available from various small ports around the area that take you to explore the myriad of islands along this stretch of coastline. A popular location for sailing and yachting, there is a sailing school here. Shinty is also popular locally, with the town being home to Kyles Athletic, who have won the prestigious Camanachd Cup on numerous occasions. Tighnabruaich is also one of the most popular locations for trips aboard the Paddle Steamer Waverley, the world’s only remaining sea-going paddle steamer.

In the village itself there are a few pubs and hotels in which to sample the delicious local fresh seafood and other delicacies from the area and also fine ales and Scotland's finest whiskies, a tearoom, small shops, an art gallery and a post office. The area is perfect for artists, photographers, ramblers, wildlife enthusiasts and just about anyone who can appreciate being away from crowds, noise and hustle and bustle, as soon as you arrive here you will find yourself slowing down and relaxing... it just doesn't get any better!!
